The instructors at Bothell Martial Arts Academy are committed to the development of students in a safe and fun environment. Our staff are highly certified in their respective disciplines and offer a wide variety of skills. Many of our BJJ Staff compete at the highest level. We have World Champions, Brazilian Champions and Pan American Champions who teach our youth and adult bjj students. All our staff are trained in First Aid and CPR and help ensure the safety of our members.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professor, Black Belt
Andrea Emmel, Brazilian Black Belt from Rio de Janeiro has developed a great teaching style to share the skills she has developed on the way to winning 4 Brazilian Championships, Six State Championships (Rio de Janeiro), a World Championship in 2009 and the Pan America Championship in 2013.
Andrea received her black belt under our Master Hercules Baptista and is the Head Professor at Elite BJJ of Bothell and Factoria.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professor, Black Belt
Mark began training jiu-jitsu under Renzo Gracie black belt Amal Easton in Boulder, Colorado in 2000. There, he learned the basics of the art and developed a deep appreciation for the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lifestyle; camaraderie, teamwork, friendship, and loyalty. He traveled to Brazil in 2001, where he competed and trained under Marcelo “Yogui” Santiago at Gracie Ipanema, eventually receiving his blue belt from Professor Yogui. Upon returning to the States, he moved back to his home state of California, where he started training under Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller in Santa Barbara. Life and work moved Mark to Seattle in 2008, where he began training with Rodrigo Lopes in Seattle and Bellevue. He began training exclusively under Andrew Solheim in 2009, and is honored to be part of Andrew’s team. Mark received his Black Belt from Rodrigo Lopes in September of 2011. Mark continues to learn the game of jiu jitsu every time he steps on the mat with the students at Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Master Hercules Baptista
Master Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Red / Black Belt (7th Degree)
Hercules Baptista is Elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's Master. He is a second generation 7th Degree Red / Black Belt. He originally achieved his black belt in 1978. Along with being a Master in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Hercules also holds a PE degree and is a Physical Therapist.
Master Hercules currently lives in Rio De Janeiro with his wife and two kids where he continues to train some of the world’s great Jiu-Jitsu students at Hercules Jiu-Jitsu.
Vince Domingcil, Owner
Kempo Chief Instructor, Muay Thai Kru
Instructor Vince has been passionate about teaching the martial arts for over 20 years. He began his martial arts training at the age of 9 at Japan International Karate Center in Hawaii. He trained in Tao Kung-fu and Aikido before enrolling in 1991 with Universal Kempo Karate Schools Association under Grand Master Martin T. Buell. In 1998, Instructor Vince relocated to the State of Washington and opened his branch in 2003 in Bothell. Since then he has earned his 5th Degree Black Belt under Grand Master Martin Buell. Also during this period, he trained in the Filipino combative art and earned his Lakan Isa black belt under Dr. Remy Presas, founder of M.A.R.P.P.I.O. He continues to improve his martial arts skills under a variety of disciplines in order to share his knowledge with his students. He models after Grand Master Buell's philosophy to always seek the "Void and Endless Knowledge" and to embrace every art to become a better martial artist. Instructor Vince currently works in law enforcement as a major crimes detective and has been serving his community for over 25 years.

Alex began training at Bothell Martial Arts 11 years ago and has earned his black belt in Kempo Karate and a blue belt in BJJ. Alex is an instructor for the youth Kempo program.
Filipino Martial Arts
Josh Faram began training Martial Arts in the fifth grade and has been training for over 20 years in many different styles: Kajukenbo, Tae Kwon Do, Aikijutsu, Silat, Doce pares, Wing Chun, MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Balintawak under John Soriano. Receiving his completion of the art in Balintawak in 2013 he has been teaching privately and is now looking forward to creating a home base to teach and further explore Balintawak. His experience in many different styles gives him a unique approach to training.

She fully believe in creating a environment for all my students to feel comfortable coming into my classes, and working to achieve their own realistic goal.
